The Secret Engine - Part 1 - Speed Racer

Speed, Spritle, and Chim Chim go out for a test drive for the Mach 5. The radio makes an announcement that Tongue Blaggard made an escape from prison. The Racers meet a girl and her grandfather whose Model T racing car broke down on the road. Speed offered to help out, but the old man declined.
Later on, the racers find the broken down Model T again. Now the old man changing his mind, he accepted Speed’s help. While the racers dine with the old man with his granddaughter and his adopted children, Blaggard steals the Model T Racing Car, trying to hope that it once belonged to the crook, Fingers Clepto. With the car stolen, Speed vows to bring back the stolen car back. Unashamed, the old man reveals who his father was. Trixie in her helicopter spotted the stolen Model T and brings it into Pops’ garage for minor repairs.
Longer than ever, a line of Model T’s formed with engine trouble. Speed finds it very strange and uncovered the old man’s original engine, finding a secret code number etched on it from Light Fingers Clepto who’s the old man’s father.
On his hideout, Blaggard recalls his encounter with the inmate who told him about the Model T vehicle’s secret engine number that leads to the loot. Making a decision to bait Blaggard, Speed adorns the Mach 5 using a flag to bear the engine’s secret code. Blaggard’s men follow him while a cargo helicopter flies ahead. The thugs set a fire on Speed and the old man, until Racer X arrives to defend his brother. Instead, he ends up on the edge’s cliff. The helicopter lowers a ramp to unload a squad of weapon-carrying motorcyclists. To be continued…

Why thugs want an old man’s car!

Speed, his younger brother Spritle, and pet Chim-Chim are off on a test run. As he runs into an old man and his grandpa. As the old man has a story to tell. Because he can’t afford to feed his orphanage. And that they need the money or they will be forced to be kicked out.

And then some thugs want the machine of his car for something bad. As Speed helps to defend this old man. Shows you the kind of heart that Speed has.

And that we learn that Racer X is referred to as Rex for the first time. Funny to see that Spritle gets mad at his monkey for taking candy and ties him up as punishment. LOL Hillarious!

Speed Racer is a show featuring a young racer named Speed and his ultimate driving machine, the Mach 5. Originally aired in Japan as Mahha Go Go Go (translation: Mach Five Go Go - "go" also means five), Speed Racer combines racing with international intrigue. Joining Speed is an unforgettable cast of characters, including Mom and Pops Racer, girlfriend Trixie, little brother Spritle and his pet monkey Chim Chim, mechanic Sparky, and the mysterious Racer X. Characters Speed Racer: Speed is an eighteen year old car driver, and is one of the youngest in the international racing cicuit. Speed also has martial art talents and tried to do the right thing whenever possible. Trixie: Speed's girlfriend, she is a seventeen year old pilot of airplanes and helicopters and often rides along as Speed's assistant and navigator. Racer X (Rex Racer): Rex is Speed's older brother, who left home years before after a dispute with Pops over a crashed car. He eventually became one of the world's best drivers and a secret agent for the International Secret Service. Spritle: Spritle is Speed's little brother and turned eight years of age in the episode "The Royal Racer." Spritle and Chim Chim usually always follow along Trixie and Speed in the trunk of their Mach 5 car. Chim Chim: Chim Chim is the family's pet chimpanzee, and Spritle's best friend. Chim Chim makes it his duty that Trixie and Speed get home safely.
