Challenge of the Masked Racer - Part 1 - Speed Racer

Speed and Trixie now driving to a shipyard, both see the Masked Racer’s car being held there for an upcoming Trans Country Race. Trixie suggests that Speed should enter the race and he agrees.
At the Racer Homestead, Pops watches TV and leanrs that Speed is entering the next upcoming race. Now, Pops blows a gasket and has a rememberance on the time his oldest son, Rex, entered and joined a race without any permission from him. Almost close to victory, Rex crashed the car that was built for him by Pops. Although Rex wasn’t injured, Pops forbidded his son to drive again due to Rex’s laco of experience. Rex made a vow to never return home.
The Alpha Team is on a conference, discussing many cheating ways to win the race. Mr. Wiley suggested Mr. Fixer and the Alpha Team driver Zoomer Slick to pull the dirty trick first. With determination to beat the Masked Racer, Speed sneaks out in the middle of the night and goes to the track.
With the heavy rains, Speed isn’t soaked.Out of nowhere, the Masked Racer warns Speed to stay off the race. He declines and says he wants to beat him and the only way to do it is to race blindly into the night. Speed mysteriously crashes when an unknown person cuts a rope, causing a cascade of logs to block the track. Now tumbling off the car, Speed feels very consious. To be continued…

First appearance of Racer X

This is the first appearance of Racer X, the mysterious driver who is more than a driver. As we see Speed and his girlfriend Trixie taking a drive. Father Pops is determined not to let Speed drive at all. For the fear of losing him despite nearly winning the first race in the first episode.

Speed, in order to prove himself more, tries to win and practice against Racer X on a very stormy night. Despite negative press on Racer X, really he is a good man it seems.

The way he treated Sprittle, the youngest brother. Shows that this will be a friendly rivalry. As Rex cares about Speed!

Speed Racer is a show featuring a young racer named Speed and his ultimate driving machine, the Mach 5. Originally aired in Japan as Mahha Go Go Go (translation: Mach Five Go Go - "go" also means five), Speed Racer combines racing with international intrigue. Joining Speed is an unforgettable cast of characters, including Mom and Pops Racer, girlfriend Trixie, little brother Spritle and his pet monkey Chim Chim, mechanic Sparky, and the mysterious Racer X. Characters Speed Racer: Speed is an eighteen year old car driver, and is one of the youngest in the international racing cicuit. Speed also has martial art talents and tried to do the right thing whenever possible. Trixie: Speed's girlfriend, she is a seventeen year old pilot of airplanes and helicopters and often rides along as Speed's assistant and navigator. Racer X (Rex Racer): Rex is Speed's older brother, who left home years before after a dispute with Pops over a crashed car. He eventually became one of the world's best drivers and a secret agent for the International Secret Service. Spritle: Spritle is Speed's little brother and turned eight years of age in the episode "The Royal Racer." Spritle and Chim Chim usually always follow along Trixie and Speed in the trunk of their Mach 5 car. Chim Chim: Chim Chim is the family's pet chimpanzee, and Spritle's best friend. Chim Chim makes it his duty that Trixie and Speed get home safely.
